Jazz Choir
The Folsom High School Jazz Choir offers students a transformative musical experience that develops not only advanced vocal skills but also deep emotional expression and artistic confidence. Through intensive training, students learn to sing with healthy technique across a wide range of vocal jazz styles—from tight ensemble harmonies to expressive solo improvisation. They also sharpen their aural skills, learning to execute complex rhythms, harmonies, and phrasing that demand a high level of musicianship.
Performing vocal jazz requires both precision and vulnerability. Students learn to connect with their audience through honest, expressive storytelling—an experience that builds both courage and character. Singing in a jazz ensemble is a powerful social and artistic journey that teaches trust, empathy, and communication.
